Joseph John Lang was born on January 13, 1910, in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio. He resided in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, prior to the war. He enlisted in the Army on November 16, 1942, in Cleveland, Ohio. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed in a non-process occupation in manufacturing and also as Single, with dependents.
Joseph served in the 315th Infantry Regiment, 79th Infantry Division, as a Private during World War II. He was Killed in Action August 27, 1944, at the age of 34, during the liberation of Vexin, France. Pvt Lang is now buried in the Epinal American Cemetery, Dinozé, France.
