Stanley Madison Dear was born on September 12, 1923. He was the son of James Luther Dear and Vivian Haire Dear. He was married to Ruby Grace Evans Coats.

Stanley resided in Richland, Massachusetts, and enlisted on March 22, 1943. He served in the 314th Infantry Regiment, 79th Infantry Division, as a Corporal during World War II. He was Killed in Action on August 27, 1944, at the age of 20, during the liberation of Vexin, France. Cpl Dear is now buried in the Delhi Masonic Cemetery, Delhi, Richland Parish, Louisiana, USA.
