Graydon Frederick Edens was born on April 10, 1916, in Ohio. He was the son of George Frederick Edens and Gussie Belle Douthit Edens.

Graydon served in Company I, 313th Infantry Regiment, 79th Infantry Division, as a Staff Sergeant during World War II. He was Killed in Action on August 26, 1944, at the age of 28, during the liberation of Vexin, France. SSgt Edens is now buried in the Maumee Cemetery, Antwerp, Paulding County, Ohio, USA.
