Louis Frank Turbak was born on September 15, 1917, in Saint Joseph, Missouri. He was the son of George Turbak and Anna Turbak.

Louis resided in Tarrant, Texas, and enlisted on February 10, 1941. He served in the 313th Infantry Regiment, 79th Infantry Division, as a Sergeant during World War II. He was Killed in Action on August 25, 1944, at the age of 26, during the liberation of Vexin, France. Sgt Turbak is now buried in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Saint Joseph, Buchanan County, Missouri, USA.
