Daniel Mathew Weaver was born on November 30, 1917, in Claiborne County, Tennessee. He was the son of Alvis Weaver and Mary Francis Capps Weaver. He was married to Lucy Lee Jeffers Chmura.

Daniel served in the 117th Infantry Regiment, 30th Infantry Division, as a Staff Sergeant during World War II. He was Killed in Action on August 30, 1944, during the liberation of Vexin, France, and is now buried in the Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-Sur-Mer, France. Sgt Weaver's name is listed on the liberation of Vexin monument in Fontenay-Saint-Père, France, but his name is spelled 'Daniel E. Weawer.'
