Bion J. Grover, Jr. was born on October 16, 1925, in New Field, New York. He was the son of Bion Grover and Mae E. Inman Grover VanAuken.

Bion, Jr. served in the 120th Infantry Regiment, 30th Infantry Division, as a Private during World War II. He was Killed in Action on August 29, 1944, at the age of 18, during the liberation of Vexin, France. Pvt Grover is now buried in the Lansingville Cemetery, Lansingville, Tompkins County, New York, USA.
