Cyril E. Leeman was born in 1925 in Maine. He was the son of Clifton W. Leeman. He resided in Sagadahoc County, Maine, prior to the war.
Cyril enlisted in the Army on November 9, 1943, in Portland, Maine. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Salesperson and also as Single, without dependents. He served in the 117th Infantry Regiment, 30th Infantry Division, as a Private during World War II. Killed in Action on August 28, 1944, during the liberation of Vexin, France, he is now buried in the Epinal American Cemetery, Dinozé, France. The "Leeman Memorial Highway" in Bath, Maine, is named in his honor.
