Robert Henry Hollback was born on August 14, 1917, in Eifort, Ohio, and received his education in the Hales Creek, Firebrick, and Blackfork schools. Before entering the Army on June 2, 1942, he was employed at the Harbison-Walker Refractories Co. clay mine at Eifort. Sgt. Hollback left Camp Phillips, Kas., last March for his overseas assignment.
Sgt. Hollback served in the 314th Infantry Regiment, 79th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on August 30, 1944, during the liberation of Vexin, France. He is now buried in the Bloom Township Cemetery, South Webster, Scioto County, Ohio, USA. His name is commemorated on the Liberation of Vexin monument in Fontenay-Saint-Père, France, but he is lsted under August 29, 1944, casualties.
