Glenn Earle Batcher was born on October 16, 1919, in Athens, Maine. He was the son of Harold Carleton Batcher and Eva Gladys Drake Batcher.
Glenn resided in Somerset County, Maine, prior to the war. He enlisted in the Army on January 8, 1942, at Fort Deven's, Massachusetts. He was noted as being Single, without dependents.
During World War II, Glenn served as a Technician Fifth Grade in the 106th Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron. He was Killed in Action on August 19, 1944, during the liberation of Vexin in France. T5 Batcher is now buried in the Brittany American Cemetery, Montjoie Saint Martin, France. His name is commemorated on a monument located in Fontenay-Saint-Père, France, but his rank is inscribed as a Private.
