Comments:

William F. Brown entered military service in Pennsylvania. He served in the 359th Fighter Squadron, 356th Fighter Group, as a First Lieutenant during World War II. He was Killed in Action on January 7, 1944, aboard his P-47 #42-8639, on an escort mission to Dorsel, Germany, when his airplane was hit by flak in an oil line. His plane crashed in Maaseik, Belgium, and he was reported missing but was later reported Killed in Action.

1Lt Brown is now buried in the Ardennes American Cemetery, Neupré, Belgium.
