Donald W. Gray was born in 1923. He resided in Onondaga County, New York, prior to the war. He served in the 863rd Bomber Squadron, 493rd Bomber Group, Heavy, as a Staff Sergeant and Waist Gunner and Ball Turret Gunner during World War II. He was Killed in Action on September 12, 1944, during a mission to Magdeburg, Germany.

SSgt Gray is now buried in the Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Hombourg, Belgium.
