Kenneth Ernest Blair was born in Upton, Wyoming, in 1924 to Axel John Simonson and Dorothy (Bartholomew) Simonsson. He eventually moved to California, where his mother later married Fred Blair. Kenneth attended schools in Taft, California, and enlisted in the United States Army Air Force in Fresno, California, on 22 Jan 1943. He had one year of college and was not married.
Kenneth was initially assigned to Keesler Field, MS, probably for basic training, and then went to Pierre Army Air Base, SD, where he trained as a weather observer and possibly a forecaster. He was then sent to Seymour Johnson Field, NC, in Dec 1943 for preparation and training for overseas deployment. He left the states in Dec 1943 and was sent to England, where he was assigned to the 18th Weather Squadron.
Kenneth Blair was killed when he collided with a plane as he was riding his bicycle across the airfield in Debach, England. He is now buried in the Cambridge American Cemetery, Cambridge, United Kingdom.
