Harold Harrison Schopp was born in 1918. He was the son of Adolph Henry and Urith Harrison Schopp, of Mexico, Missouri, U.S.A.

Harold was a member of the 153 (R.A.F.) Sqdn., Royal Canadian Air Force. On December 17, 1944, he and 3 crew members took off from Scampton, England, on a night raid operation to Ulm, Germany. Aboard Avro Lancaster III #PB633, the aircraft collided with another Lancaster over France, partially abandoned, and then crashed near Laon. Harold was killed in the incident while the 3 crew members were unharmed and looked after by a US Army Division before being transported back to Scampton.

Flying Officer Schopp is now buried in the Dieppe Canadian War Cemetery in France.
