Floyd Wallace Erickson was born on November 5, 1925. He served in the 753rd Bomber Squadron, 458th Bomber Group, Heavy, as a Sergeant and Assistant Engineer/Gunner on the B-24 #42-94811 “Tommy Thumper II” during World War II. He was Killed in Action during a training flight on January 22, 1945, in Old Catton, England. Attempting to return to the airfield, the four-motored bomber lost power and crashed just southeast of modern-day Norwich International Airport.

Sgt Erickson is now buried in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota, USA.
