Dale W. Golden was born on November 23, 1922, in Illinois. He was the son of Dewey W Golden and Malinda Schwarck Holgate. He was married to Dena Merle Preston Rogers.

Dale served in the 849th Bomber Squadron, 490th Bomber Group, Heavy, as a Staff Sergeant and Waist Gunner on a B-17, Robert L. Jackson crew, during World War II. He was Killed in Action on November 5, 1944, during a mission to Ludwigshafen, Germany. SSgt Golden is now buried in the Ardennes American Cemetery, Neupr�, Belgium.
