Duran Fenn Quinn, Jr. was born on July 2, 1920, in Bel, Louisiana. He was the son of Duran Fenn Quinn and Beulah Mae Hollingsworth Quinn.
Duran served in the 313th Fighter Squadron, 50th Fighter Group, as a Second Lieutenant and Fighter Pilot during World War II. He was a passenger aboard Cessna Bobcat UC-78 #43-7528 when he was killed on July 2, 1944, in a plane crash in England. 2LT Quinn was on a transport flight from Carentan to Chilbolton before going onto an operational leave when his aircraft experienced an engine failure and crashed close to St Mark's Church in Ampfield, killing all on board.
2Lt Quinn is now buried in the Oakdale Cemetery, Oakdale, Allen Parish, Louisiana, USA.
