He was Killed in Action on February 6, 1945, when his airplane crashed in the woods near Chatel-Montagne in France. His flight has originated in Italy, and around 2:30 PM, his aircraft experienced mechanical failure leading to a crash. All men aboard the plane were killed in this incident.
