Vincent R. Murphy was born on February 16, 1921. He served in the 406th Bomber Squadron, 801st Bomber Group, Heavy, as a Second Lieutenant and Navigator on the B-24 #42-52650 during World War II. He was Killed in Action on January 3, 1945, in the takeoff crash of his airplane. It crashed in the village on Aston Clinton in England, killing all aboard. 2Lt Murphy is now buried in the Long Island National Cemetery, East Farmingdale, Suffolk County, New York, USA.
