Adam was born in Kansas City, Missouri to Joseph and Altagracia Hinojos on June 6, 1921. His mother passed away when he was 6 months old and he and his father moved to Lemoore, California.
He graduated from Lemoore High in 1941 and joined the war effort by enlisting in the US Army Air Corps. He was stationed in Horham, England, serving in the 457th Sub-Depot and later in the 95th Bomber Group. He met his future wife Annie Robertson, on a double date while in Scotland. They were married on September 18, 1945.
After the war, Adam returned to Lemoore in 1946. His wife joined him the same year. During his lifetime he enjoyed traveling, golfing, and was a longtime fan of the San Francisco Giants and 49'ers, and participated on bowling teams for Boston Ranch Company and Lincoln Market. He also enjoyed growing roses and visiting his wife's relatives in Scotland.
Adam died on October 30, 2010, at the age of 89, in Leemore, but his current burial place is unknown.
