Clyde Marshal Gilmore was born on March 30, 1923, in Anderson County, Texas. He was the son of Johnnie Lee Gilmore and Clara Ben Parker Gilmore.
Clyde graduated from Elkhart High School and The University of Texas at Austin. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps after graduating from high school and served in the 95th Bombardment Group during World War II and then survived the war.
Clyde died on October 30, 2010, at the age of 87, in Houston, Texas. He is now buried in the Houston National Cemetery.
