Stanley Bixby Morrill, aged 27, was born on June 13, 1916, in Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. He was the son of Moses Bixby Morrill and Gertrude Agnes Stewart Morrill.

Stanley served in the 62nd Fighter Squadron, 56th Fighter Group, as a Captain during World War II. He was Killed in Action on March 29, 1944, in the explosion when bombs exploded after two B-24's collided during form up after take-off from RAF Halesworth, England. Sixteen airmen were killed aboard the two Liberators and nineteen USAAF personnel and civilian personnel died during rescue and firefighting. He is now buried in the New Willimantic Cemetery, Willimantic, Windham County, Connecticut, USA
