John Joseph Fanucchi, Jr. was born on September 17, 1917, in California. He was the son of Giovanni Fanucchi and Elizabeth Maria Pellegrini Fanucchi. John served in the 9th Field Hospital during World War II. He was Killed in Action on December 27, 1944, in Verviers, Belgium, when his station was directly hit by a VI Flying Bomb during the Battle of the Bulge. Fanucchi is now buried in the Italian Cemetery, Colma, San Mateo County, California, USA.
