George Bruce George Bruce, aged 19, was born on April 29, 1925. He served in the 749th Bomber Squadron, 457th Bomber Group, as a Sergeant and Waist Gunner on the B-17G #43-38812 during World War II. He was Killed in Action on December 23, 1944, when his airplane crashed at Great Rollright in England. They were on a flight from RAF Portreath in Cornwall to their home base at RAF Glatton, near Peterborough, when their aircraft hit trees and crashed 800 yards from Great Rollright village hall.

Sgt Hawleyis now buried in the Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Lincoln County, Nebraska, USA.
