Clifford Hendrickson, aged 27, from Jasper, Indiana, the son of Frank and Isabel Hendrickson, was born on October 4, 1917. He enlisted into the Army Air Force in October 1942.

Clifford served in the 749th Bomber Squadron, 457th Bomber Group, as a First Lieutenant and Pilot on the B-17G #43-38812 during World War II. He was Killed in Action on December 23, 1944, when his airplane crashed at Great Rollright in England. They were on a flight from RAF Portreath in Cornwall to their home base at RAF Glatton, near Peterborough, when their aircraft hit trees and crashed 800 yards from Great Rollright village hall.

Originally buried in Cambridge American Cemetery, UK, 1Lt Hendrickson's final resting place is in the Shiloh Cemetery, Ireland, Dubois County, Indiana, USA.
