Michael P. O'Hara was born on July 29, 1912, in Queens, New York. He was married to Elizabeth V. Odgers O'Hara.

Michael attended Sacred Heart parochial school and Boys Central high school. Following his graduation, he was a star for Centerville in the Butte-Anaconda Independent Football league.

SSgt O'Hara was a radio operator in the 43rd Troop Carrier Squadron, 315th Troop Carrier Group. He was Killed in Action on March 24, 1945, at the age of 32, in Germany. He is now buried in the Netherlands American Cemetery, Margraten, Netherlands.
