Norman E. Brown was born on November 11, 1918, in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. He served in the 43rd Troop Squadron, 315th Troop Carrier Group, as a Technical Sergeant and a crew member on the C-47A #43-15256 in World War II.
The crew was taking part in 'Operation Varsity' on March 24, 1945. While approaching Wesel, Germany, the aircraft was shot down by flak and crashed in a field, killing three crew members and injuring two others.
TSgt Brown is now buried in the Ardennes American Cemetery, Neupré, Belgium.
