Lavalle Malone Parham was born on July 9, 1914, in Latta, South Carolina. He was the son of Walter Clyde Parham and Roberta Bethea Parham.

Lavalle served in the 62nd Armored Field Artillery Battalion, as a First Lieutenant during World War II. He was Killed in Action on September 15, 1944, in the Netherlands, at the age of 30, and is now buried in the Magnolia Cemetery, Latta, Dillon County, South Carolina, USA. 1Lt Parham was one of the 65 soldiers killed in battle during the liberation of the Limburg region of the Netherlands and Belgium.
