George A. Ligeros was born on October 11, 1919, in North Dakota. He was the son of John Louis Ligeros and Ida Marie Evenson Ligeros.

George served in the 99th Infantry Battalion (Separate), as a Private during World War II. He died on September 17, 1944, in Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany, and is now buried in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota, USA. Pvt Ligeros was killed in battle during the Canal Drive liberation of Belgian Limburg.
