James R. Williams was born on October 8, 1919, in Missouri. He was the son of Grover Elwood Williams and Ethel Davis Dolman Williams.
He served in Company F, 87th Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron (Mechanized), 7th Armored Division as a Sergeant (Military Occupation Specialty 795) during World War II. He died on October 23, 1944, probably attached to A/87, along Canal du Nord, 2 miles south of Horik, Netherlands. Sgt Williams is now buried in the Middle River Cemetery, Callaway County, Missouri, USA.
