Gilbert H. Wells was born on June 2, 1907. He was the son of Robert Hugh Wells and Mary Ellen Rivenbark Wells.
Pfc Wells was assigned as Rifleman (Military Occupation Specialty 745) in Company A, 48th Infantry Battalion, 7th Armored Division during World War II. He was Killed in Action on November 3, 1944, in the vicinity of Horik, Holland. He is now buried in the Whitakers Cemetery, Whitakers, Edgecombe County, North Carolina, USA.
