Toulman Yancy Freeman was born on July 15, 1922, in Alabama. He was the son of William Edward Freeman and Delilah Esther Wilson Freeman.

Cpl Freeman was assigned as Anti-tank Gun Crewman (Military Occupation Specialty 610) in Company A, 38th Armored Infantry Battalion, 7th Armored Division during World War II. He was reportedly shot in the leg and bled to death in the 91st Evacuation Hospital in the Netherlands on November 4, 1944. His last duty was probably near Horik and Gospel, Netherlands on November 3, 1944.

Cpl Freeman is now buried in the Bethany Cemetery, Crane Hill, Cullman County, Alabama, USA.
