Burt Christie Wyman was born on May 27, 1922, in Englewood, New Jersey. He served in the 335th Fighter Squadron, 4th Fighter Group, as a Second Lieutenant during World War II.
On January 29, 1944, 2Lt Wyman took off at 09:15 from Station 356 airfield in Debden, England, on a bomber escort mission to Frankfurt, Germany. His plane, P-47D-10-RE #42-75119 WD-N, was shot down in air combat by ofw Paul Marx of the 7./JG2 at 11h55. He crashed into a forest in Cne de Haybes (1.5 Km SO) - 3 km north of Fumay, France.
2Lt Wyman is now buried in the Epinal American Cemetery, Dinozé, France.
