Ralph W. Saunders was born on December 21, 1916. He served in the 335th Fighter Squadron, 4th Fighter Group, as a Second Lieutenant during World War II and was a pilot of the P-51 Mustang #43-6325 at the time of his death.
2Lt Saunders was Killed in Action on April 13, 1944. He was last seen during the fighter sweep to Schweinfurt, Germany, flying just above the clouds at 10,000’. He was not heard from again.
2Lt Saunders is now buried in the Veterans Cemetery, Pekin, Tazewell County, Illinois, USA.
