Harry Lewis Davis was born on August 28, 1923, in Cotulla, La Salle County, Texas. He was the son of Merle Vane Davis and Alva Gaddis Davis.

Harry served in the 336th Fighter Squadron, 4th Fighter Group, as a Second Lieutenant during World War II. He was Killed in Action on March 26, 1945, when his plane, P-51K #44-12154, crashed at Woodbridge returning from a show. His aircraft was seen to emerge from the clouds with its port wing on fire, then dove 700’ straight into the deck.

2Lt Davis is now buried in the Cotulla West Cemetery, La Salle County, Texas, USA.
