Louis Joseph Cubba was born on October 8, 1918 in Du Quoin, Illinois. He attended Northern High School. Before entering the service on September 24, 1942, Sergeant Cubba was employed by Murray Corp. He had been in England in May, 1943.

Tail gunner on a B-26 Marauder, he was wounded over Holland and killed when his plane crash landed in Belgium on September 23, 1944. SSgt Cubba is now buried in the Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Hombourg, Belgium.
