Lee A. Henry was born in 1921 in Pennsylvania. He resided in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania prior to the war. He enlisted in the Army on July 22, 1942 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed in the manufacture of textiles and also as Single, without dependents.
Lee served as a Technical Sergeant on B-26B #41-31848, 553rd Bomber Squadron, 386th Bomber Group, Medium, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. He was declared "Missing In Action" when his B-26, having been damaged on a bombing mission, crashed into the English Channel.
TSgt Henry is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Ardennes American Cemetery, Neupré, Belgium. He also has a cenotaph located in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.
