Paul W. Bragg was born on September 1, 1919 in New Paris, Ohio. He resided in Preble County, Ohio prior to the war. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on June 12, 1941, prior to the war, at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being Single, without dependents.
Paul served as a Staff Sergeant and Engineer/Gunner on B-26B #41-31597, 553rd Bomber Squadron, 386th Bomber Group, Medium, U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II. He was declared "Missing In Action" when his B-26B was shot down by German Fw 190 fighters and crashed just off the coast in the North Sea.
He is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Netherlands American Cemetery, Margraten, Netherlands.
