Arthur L. Hartman was born on November 3, 1913 in East Orange, Essex County, New Jersey. He was the son of Dorothy Webb Hartman. He served in the 379th Fighter Squadron, 362nd Fighter Group as a Technical Sergeant during World War II. TSGT Hartman was killed when the P-47 he was working on was hit by a shell; PFC John Goodall, a medic with the 377th, was also killed by shellfire. TSGT Hartman is now buried in the Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-sur-Mer, France.
