Scott Hamilton Burgess was born on October 24, 1978 in Virginia. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 84th Field Artillery Regiment, 170th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Baumholder, Germany. SGT Burgess died on April 4, 2011, of wounds sustained from small-arms fire in Maymaneh City, Afghanistan. Also killed was Sgt. Michael S. Lammerts. SGT Burgess is now buried in the Wheelock Cemetery, Wheelock, Robertson County, Texas, USA.
