Estill T. Switzer was born on July 14, 1924 in Kentucky. He was the son of George Switzer and Willie B. Horn Switzer. He served in the 11th Infantry Regiment, 5th Infantry Division as a Private First Class during World War II. PFC Switzer died on January 25, 1945 and is now buried in the Luxembourg American Cemetery, Luxembourg. He was one of the 38 American soldiers killed during the fierce fighting at sub-zero temperatures to recapture the town of Hoscheid, Luxembourg.
