He served in the 381st Fighter Squadron as a Second Lieutenant during World War II. 2LT White was the pilot of the B-10 #42-106453 which took off from station 413 in Staplehurst, England. By an unknown circumstance, his plane crashed at 8:00h in Commune of Quettehou near Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue, France. He is buried now in the Florence National Cemetery, Florence, Florence County, South Carolina, USA.
