Johnnie Thomas Orms was born on November 23, 1919. He was drafted in 1942 and his first assignment was in England where he met and married Qwendline.
On Oct 2, 1948, he was driving a small fire truck responding to a fire on the west side of the Rhine-Main Air Force Base and was blinded by the setting sun. He drove into a whirling propeller of a C-54 and was killed instantly. CPL Orms is buried now in the Elmwood Cemetery, Coffeyville, Montgomery County, Kansas, USA.
