Adrian Rothrock Loving was born on March 10, 1910 in California. He served in the 86th Troop Squadron, 437th Troop Carrier Group as a Flight Officer during World War II. He was a glider pilot in support of the D-Day landings at Normandy in what was known as Glider Operation Neptune. He was killed when his glider was hit by enemy flak. Elmer Kiel was also killed aboard CG-4A (43-40197). F/O Loving is buried now in the Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-sur-Mer, France.
