On 10 August 1942 he enlisted in the service from New York City, New York, as a private in the Air Corps. He had one year of college education, was single, without dependents and his civilian occupation was listed as: "Clerks, General office." Saul served in the 83rd Squadron, 437th Troop Carrier Group as a Flight Officer during World War II. He had participated in six 437th flights as a C-47 Navigator: Mission DETROIT on 06 June 1944; Mission ELMIRA on 06 June 1944; the movement from Ramsbury to Montalto for Operation DRAGOON in July 1944; the resupply and air evacuation Mission #7 in June of 1944; the resupply and air evacuation Mission #49 in August of 1944 and Operation VARSITY in March 1945.
Saul Bush died on October 20, 2004 but his current burial place is unknown.
