Anthony Francis Bellini was born in 1922. He served in the 312th Ferrying Squadron, 27th Air Transport Group as a Sergeant and Flight Engineer on the B-24H 42-51202 aircraft during World War II. The aircraft was being ferried from BAD 2 at Warton in Lancashire to Langford Lodge in Northern Ireland during the mid-evening of June 8, 1944. While flying in low cloud, the aircraft struck Snaefell, killing the four crew members aboard. The wreck was found the following day by a police officer leading a group of internees on a hike from Peel. The crew was buried first in the Lisnabreeny Former American Military Cemetery in England. The cemetery closed in 1948 and their remains were exhumed and transferred. SGT Bellini is buried now in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Birdsboro, Berks County, Pennsylvania, USA.
