Mario J. Agnese was born in 1908. He served in the 311th Ferry Squadron, 27th Air Transport Group as a Sergeant during World War II. An Engineer of the B-26C #41-34893, he was killed in the crash of the plane shortly after take-off due to the mechanical failure of an engine on a local flight on Mar 4, 1944. SGT Agnese was first buried in the Lisnabreeny Former American Military Cemetery in England. The cemetery closed in 1948 and his remains were exhumed and transferred. He is buried now in the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Colma, San Mateo County, California, USA.
