Richard Erwin "Dick" Cady was born on November 19, 1920. He was the son of Benjamin E. Cady and Matilda Cady. He enlisted in the Army on November 30, 1942 and served in Company C, 62nd Armored Infantry Battalion, 14th Armored Division as a Private First Class during World War II. He was killed in action in France, on the road leading to Lafrimbolle while his unit, due to join Schirmeck, ran into an enemy roadblock. PFC Cady is now buried in the Miami Cemetery, Miamitown, Hamilton County, Ohio, USA.
