Daniel W. Whipps was born on June 17, 1947 in Pennsylvania, son of Marion E. Whipps. He attended Gettysburg College. Daniel enlisted in the U.S. Air Force on June 1, 1969. He served as a Captain in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He died on March 14, 1972 at the age of 24 and is now buried in the Gettysburg National Cemetery, Gettysburg, Adams County, Pennsylvania, USA. CPT Whipps was one of the American airmen who died in service while assigned at the Spangdahlem Air Force Base, Germany.
