William Joseph O'Donnell was born on May 5, 1924 in Port Chester, New York. He served in the 555th Bomber Squadron, 386th Bomber Group, Medium, as a Sergeant during World War II. Crew member on a Martin B-26G Marauder #44-67827, they crashed into a hill near Neuilly, France on returning to base on December 29, 1944. Other crew were 2Lt Robert Wayne “Rabbit” Bledsoe, Pilot; Sergeant Frederick Jesse Beadle, Crew Chief; Sgt Charles J. Huling, Radioman; and Sgt Lionel G. Aguirre, Mechanic. SGT O'Donnell is now buried in the Long Island National Cemetery, East Farmingdale, Suffolk County, New York, USA.
