Calvin Eugene Drumheller was born on January 22, 1914. He was the son of George Atwood and Ida E. Drumheller of Sunbury, Pennsylvania. Calvin entered service on August 18, 1942 and served with the 350th Infantry Regiment of the 88th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on September 29, 1944 at the age of 30 in Italy and is now buried in the Saint Peter's Lutheran and Reformed Cemetery, Asherton, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, USA. His unit was cited for outstanding performance of duty in action during the period 27 September to 3 October 1944 at Mt. Battaglia, Italy against German forces. For seven days, amidst powerful counterattacks, the men of the battalion repulsed each attack with fighting ability and teamwork, therefore, their objective was accomplished.
